A French History
After a trip in United States, Fred LIP comes back to Europe convinced of the potential and the future of electronic watch. This is a genuine technical challenge. The first electronic watch prototype in the world is presented, in March 1952, in Sciences Academy of Paris.
This innovation represents a masterpiece for Fred LIP. The watch equipped with a revolutionary R27 movement has been commercialized in 1958. Fred LIP is proud to offer this innovative and avant-gardist watch to general De Gaulle, and then to general Eisenhower. In this way, the watch called “General De Gaulle” is the result of ten years of research led with efficiency and passion to develop the first electronic watch which was the first step to quartz watches
